The City of St John wants to make all aspects of life as accessible as possible for the citizens of St John. The City has undertaken steps to make the swimming pool more accessible and has moved the Council Meetings to the lower level to allow for better access. The City intends to make council meeting more audible for the hearing impaired and for home viewers. This will have to be accomplished in conjunction with the Shepard’s Senior Center to provide better sound reproduction for their television equipment. A sound system for the council chamber will be reviewed.
For those who have reservations about contacting the city office to address issues of accessibility, we welcome comments and concerns to be placed in the city drop box. These will be reviewed by the City Staff and brought to council if these concerns or comments require an expenditure of funds.
Again the City Staff hopes all citizens can enjoy their lives in St John to the fullest. The City will do everything within reason that we can do to make access to the City as easy and fulfilling as the City is able to do within the resources available.
