2000-2006- Police Officer with the Hutchinson Police Department
Served as a Gang Enforcement Officer for 3 years
School Resource Officer for 2 years
Hostage and Crisis Negotiator for 4 years
Helped form the HPD Hostage and Crisis Negotiation Team in 2002
Member of the Reno County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) for 2 years
Helped form the Reno County Gang Offender Comprehensive Action Program (GOCAP) in 2004

Served as a consultant in 2007 for Internal Performance LLC out of Dallas, TX
2008-09 Chief of Police of the Halstead Police Department
Wrote and implemented all new policy and procedure manual for the Halstead PD
Moved department to a focus on community oriented policing
Upgraded all department equipment, purchasing new hand guns, bullet proof vests, and rifles for each officer
Served on the Harvey County Hostage and Crisis Negotiation Team

2009-11
Worked in radio in Hutchinson, calling play-by-play for high school and college football and basketball
Managed a sports bar and grill in Hutchinson as well

June 2011
Named new Chief of Police for the City of St. John, replacing retiring Chief Sonny Ralston
July 11, 2011, began my tenure as Chief of Police in St John
