Welcome to St. John

In an effort to be proactive so the City can continue to provide essential services that support life, health and safety within St. John, City Hall doors will be closed to the general public until further notice. All City services will be available but we are asking the community to handle those by email or phone.

Utility payments: Payments can be put in the dropbox, made online at or by going to our webpage at and clicking “pay my utility” on the right hand side of the page, by auto draft from your checking account (we can email you the form), or by calling in. Payments by phone will be accepted during business hours.

Due to limits on the numbers of individuals that can gather in one location, all regularly scheduled meetings and special meetings of the City Council of the City of St. John will be inaccessible to the general public.

Council will continue to meet in their normal council chambers at city hall.

City department heads and city staff will participate in council meetings by telephone conference call and as directed by the City Administrator.  The City Administrator shall continue to be present in person at all meetings.

Before speaking, each individual participating by telephone conference shall announce their name.

All motions made shall be clearly made by the individual making the motion.  Votes on each motion shall be tallied and announced out loud by the Mayor.

The agenda for each meeting shall be posted on the City’s website and Facebook page at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting.

In order to comply with the Kansas Open Meetings Act, the meetings will be open to the public via live television broadcast.  All regular and special meetings will  broadcast on regular cable channel 3 at the scheduled time of the meeting.

A recording of each regular and special council meeting shall be available to the general public at the website address within 24 hours of the meeting.
